Artista: Fausto Zonaro
Fausto Zonaro era un artista realista del siglo XVIII conocido por sus representaciones del Imperio Otomano. Abdulhamid II encargó al artista que produjera pinturas que representan la vida del sultán otomano del siglo XV, Mehmed II. La pintura Mehmed II, entrando a Constantinopla muestra al sultán entrando en Constantinopla después de que los otomanos conquistaron Estambul y marcaron un punto de inflexión importante en la historia mundial. En primer lugar, hay cadáveres muertos. El sultán se muestra entrando en un caballo, a través de una puerta arqueada con su ejército. Se ve feroz y calmado mientras mira su nueva tierra. Había soñado con conquistar a Constantinopla ya que era un niño joven y cuando se hizo, dijo a sus soldados que estaban borrachos con victoria “Sed satisfechos con el botín y los cautivos; los edificios y la ciudad me pertenecen”
