En 1745 Mademoiselle Duronceray —el cantante, bailarín y la comedia probablemente retrató aquí— se casó con Charles Simon Favart, padre de la ópera cómica francesa. Entre sus funciones más conocidas estaba la de la heroína en Los Amores de Bastien y Bastienne, 1753, en la que inspiró una revolución en traje teatral usando auténtico vestido campesino. El retrato de Drouais de su asiento en un harpsichord recuerda las representaciones tradicionales de Santa Cecilia, patrona de la música.
