De todos los seguidores de Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg (1783-1853), el padre fundador de la Edad Dorada de la pintura danesa, sólo Petzholdt se dedicó exclusivamente al paisaje. Aunque la ubicación exacta de esta pequeña vista no se ha determinado, fue evidentemente pintada en Alemania, donde el artista dibujado en 1829 y de nuevo el año siguiente.
