La Virgen y el Niño están entronizados en un jardín amurallado, una probable metáfora para su virginidad. A la derecha Santa Bárbara lee un libro. Mary Magdalene, sentada junto a ella sosteniendo un frasco de ungüento, parece estar girando las páginas. A la izquierda Santa Catalina recibe un anillo del niño Cristo (que se negó a casarse con un emperador por el motivo de que ella ya estaba casada con Cristo). El mundo cotidiano representado más allá de la pared fue quizás pintado de Brujas contemporáneas. David.
