Este panel Leonardesque viene de la iglesia de San Sepolcro, que ahora es parte integral de la Biblioteca Veneranda Ambrosiana. Los músicos Putti animan al Niño Jesús y San Roch se unen a la adoración del Niño. El santo es identificado por su personal peregrino y capa, por la herida en su pierna causada por la plaga, y por el perro con el pan. Dado que el santo fue particularmente invocado durante tiempos de peste, podría ser razonable pensar que la pintura está vinculada de alguna manera a la gran epidemia que golpeó Milán entre 1524 y 1529.
