Elizabeth Williams (1765-1843) fue la hija mayor de Elizabeth Bell y Henry Howell Williams. En 1797 se casó con Andrew Sigourney, un destacado Bostonian. Durante su vida, Sigourney sirvió como tesorero de la antigua y honorable Artillería Company, tesorero de la ciudad de Boston, y representante en la legislatura estatal de Massachusetts. Aquí, Stuart ha reducido la calidad casi sensual que le prestó a muchas niñeras femeninas para enfatizar la inteligencia y prosperidad de la Sra. Sigourney.
