El ángel ha volado a la humilde cama de María a través de una ventana abierta acompañada por la paloma del Espíritu Santo; nubes se billowen alrededor de él; la persiana de la ventana se abre hacia el espectador; y una cortina a la derecha es como si fuera arrastrada para revelar la escena. La imagen puede ser una obra independiente o un estudio para un retablo. Los coleccionistas valoraron el cepillo bravura como una transcripción directa de la creatividad del artista.
