La miniatura representa una vista de la Plaza de San Marcos y fue realizada por Giovanni Migliara, pintor y escenógrafo procedente de Alessandria. Formado como tallador de madera con Luigi Zuccoli, se trasladó a la pintura de teatro en la escuela de Gaspare Galliari; sin embargo, se vio obligado a interrumpir la actividad escenógrafo debido a sus graves condiciones de salud. Pintó una gran cantidad de fantasía, paisaje y perspectivas.
