Un bosquejo de un molino de ladrillo y un árbol en el fondo. Berg era el hijo de una familia rica en Svolvær, Lofoten. Consiguió su educación en Düsseldorf entre 1883 y 1885, por lo que esta imagen es más probable desde su época en Alemania. Después de su educación, viajó entre su taller en Svolvær y Alemania hasta que murió en 1893 en Berlín.
