Hay soldados samuráis y monjes totalmente armados, y también monjas asustadas agachadas mientras se aferran firmemente a sus rosarios budistas. Viene un hombre por los escalones de piedra. Esta persona, cuyo rostro no se muestra, es el emperador Godaigo mismo. Se sabe que huyó de Kyoto en 1336 y estableció el gobierno en Yoshino, Nara. La obra captura el momento extremadamente tenso donde está a punto de escapar del palacio imperial disfrazado de mujer en un sombrero de paja femenina y Kimono.
