Ivan Lazarov (1889-1952) fue el representante más prominente del movimiento de arte indígena en la escultura búlgara de los años veinte y treinta. Dedicó su trabajo creativo a la tradición, estilo de vida y cultura de Bulgaria, y defendió un arte que era nacional en espíritu y forma.
