La serie KatzenelnbogenPara Jan la biografía de Younger ver la entrada en su retrato en la serie Leeuwarden (SK-A-534). El presente trabajo está muy cerca del Retrato 1611 de Van Ravesteyn de Jan el Younger en la colección del Mauritshuis.9 A diferencia de ese retrato, sin embargo, el collar en el presente se recorta con encaje, sugiriendo que otro retrato perdido sirvió como prototipo.
