Jan Brueghel Pinté con tanta precisión que se llamaba el Velvet Brueghel. Fue el primer artista flamenco en pintar flores muertas, logrando un gran éxito con ellos. Este pequeño ramo de rosas y tulipanes se encuentra en un jarrón de porcelana chino especial: un kendi o botella china de agua. Brueghel lo puso frente a un fondo oscuro, contra el cual las rosas, narcissi y los tulipanes encendidos destacan muy bien.
