Esta pintura representa la cena dada por el Gran Vizier en honor de una delegación embajadora, antes de su recepción oficial en el Salón del Trono del Sultán (Arz Odası). Durante esas cenas celebradas en la sala Kubbealtı, donde también se reunió el Consejo Imperial de Estado (Divan-ı Hümayun), el embajador con Dragoman a ambos lados se sentaría alrededor de la misma mesa. Los demás miembros de la delegación se reunirían con otros dignatarios otomanos.
