El general británico John Maunsell (1724-1795) se sentó a Ramage poco después de que él y su esposa estadounidense, Elizabeth Stillwell, regresaran al estado de Nueva York del exilio voluntario en Irlanda durante la revolución. Las iniciales grabadas son de una fecha posterior y son para Ann Eliza Van Rensselaer, la bisabuela del donante.
