El Danaides (1904) es una pintura al óleo del pintor prerafaelita inglés John William Waterhouse. Las cincuenta hijas de Danaüs, rey de Argos, fueron ordenadas en obediencia a una profecía para asesinar a sus maridos en su noche de bodas; todo menos uno obedeció, y fueron castigados por tener que sacar agua en sieves de un pozo profundo, o por derramarla infinitamente en un barco de donde escapó continuamente.
