Esta viñeta evocadora está firmada por un cierto Lu Kezheng, un artista oscuro que ha ido sin grabar en historias de pintura china. Centrando la composición en la mitad inferior del ventilador, Lu dejó la parte superior en la niebla, creando un sentimiento de suspenso al retener una vista a la distancia lejana. La pintura está fechada según el ciclo de sesenta años del calendario chino premoderno, por lo que no es posible saber si se hizo en 1591 o sesenta años después en 1651, aunque este último parece más probable basado en su estilo.
