En este trabajo magistral y algo personal en el género natural del mundo, Mansur extendió desproporcionadamente el rango cromático entre criatura y follaje, subrayando la maravillosa capacidad del camaleón para mezclarse con su entorno. Las ramas monocromáticas forman un folio al camaleón y el follaje con el que se ha armonizado. Ya en el empleo del Príncipe Salam (el futuro Jahangir), Mansur sin duda pretendía esta imagen atractiva para captar la atención de su joven patrón.
