José Galvez Barrenechea (Tarma, 1885-Lima, 1957) fue poeta, escritor y político peruano, que pertenecía a un grupo de intelectuales conocidos como la Generación de los 900. Fundó la Asociación Nacional de Escritores y Artistas, y fue miembro de la Academia Peruana de Lengua y del Instituto Histórico del Perú. También fue miembro fundador del grupo político del Frente Nacional Democrático. Mantuvo varias posiciones académicas y políticas.
