El Colon Theather es un proyecto diseñado por el arquitecto francés Claude Sahut, inaugurado en 1914 y declarado Monumento Nacional en 1972. El teatro está situado frente a la Plaza San Martín, antigua Zela Plaza. En sus primeros años, sólo tenía dos plantas y una cúpula de estilo art nouveau. El edificio fue remodelado a su apariencia actual en 1936 por el ingeniero Alejandro Garland, trayendo importantes cambios como el crecimiento vertical del edificio. En sus instalaciones se presentaron numerosas obras teatrales, y desde 1921 también proyecciones cinematográficas.
