El relato de la decapitación de Judith Holofernes ha sido tratado por varios pintores y escultores. Michelangelo representa la escena en múltiples aspectos en uno de los Pendentivos, o cuatro nalgas en el techo de la Capilla Sixtina. El techo de la Capilla Sixtina, pintado por Miguel Ángel entre 1508 y 1512, es una de las obras de arte más renombradas del Alto Renacimiento.
