Este abanico pintado, usado anteriormente pero salvado con cuidado amoroso y remontado como un pergamino colgante, representa los girasoles chinos azules y blancos, las floraciones otoñales favoritas de Japón. Combinado con hierba de pampas, los girasoles chinos expresan sucintamente el momento en que el verano tardío pasa al otoño. Aunque la pintura lleva una lectura de foca "Hokkyō Kōrin" ("Kōrin, con rango de Hokkyō"), carece de la espontaneidad del gran genio del estilo Rinpa y por lo tanto puede ser asignado a uno de los numerosos seguidores de Kōrin.
