Los contactos establecidos en París, entre 1934-35, con el ambiente intelectual y artístico de la vanguardia llevan a Pedro a firmar, junto con Arp, Calder, Delaunays, Duchamp, Miró, Moholy-Nagy y Picabia, entre otros, el Manifiesto Dimensionalista, una tendencia que pretende borrar la frontera entre las artes mediante la introducción del espacio-tiempo como cuarta dimensión. Para Pedro, representaba la posibilidad de construir un puente de su actividad poética a las artes plásticas, abriendo el arte portugués a un nuevo espacio para la relación arte-literatura, de acuerdo con las teorías y experiencias del arte internacional de la época.
