Helen Gwynne-Vaughan, (née Fraser, 1879-1967), fue un prominente botánico británico que también tuvo una distinguida carrera militar. En 1909 tuvo éxito a su esposo, David Thomas Gwynne-Vaughan, como Jefe del Departamento de Botánica en Birkbeck College. En 1921 se convirtió en la primera profesora de la universidad. Se retiró como profesora emérita en 1944. Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, Gwynne-Vaughan fue nombrado Controlador de las Mujeres
