Estas pequeñas jarras están diseñadas para representar agua y vino. La manija del vaso de vino está en forma de faun o sátire, y los fragmentos de uvas espumosas aluden a las alegrías del vino. El vaso de agua lleva la figura de una sirena y un monstruo marino con una boca abierta. Pierre Gouthière (1732–1813) fue el más famoso cazador de bronce parisino y gilder de su día. Recibió comisiones de personalidades como el Marqués de Marigny, Madame de Pompadour
