Los temas bíblicos del Antiguo Testamento crecieron en popularidad durante el siglo XVI. Esta ewer cuenta dos historias del Libro del Éxodo: en el hombro está el episodio durante el cual los israelitas recogen el maná que cae a la tierra después de que se quejan a Moisés de hambre, una historia frecuentemente representada en los esmaltes Limoges. En el cuerpo del alcantarillado se representa la destrucción de los ejércitos del Faraón después de que los israelitas cruzaran el Mar Rojo. Esta ewer podría ser un trabajo tardío de Pierre Reymond, quien firmó varios vasos de la misma forma pero decorado en grisaille; sin embargo, el rico repertorio de motivos decorativos recuerda la obra de Jean Reymond.
