Este es un interesante boceto de Raja Ravi Varma de un elefante con todos los accoutrements de la realeza. En primer lugar está el cañón y la espada. En el elefante están los aullidos, bandera y paraguas. A la izquierda del elefante es el shankha (conch-shell) que es un símbolo especial de Vishnu. La concha se llama Panchajanya, símbolo de la autoridad religiosa ejercida por la palabra. El Shankha sigue siendo parte del Emblema del Estado de Kerala. El elefante interesantemente lleva una bandera con un emblema compuesto por dos elefantes y las iniciales
