Este retrato generalmente es considerado por Rembrandt, y se piensa algo menos uniformemente hasta la fecha desde los años 1650. Ambas preguntas se hacen más difíciles por la condición de la imagen: las manos, el cuerpo y el sombrero están muy abrasados. La cara está bastante bien conservada.
