El Stoning de San Esteban es la primera pintura del artista holandés Rembrandt, pintado en 1625 a la edad de 19. Actualmente se encuentra en el Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon. Esta obra está inspirada en el martirio de san Esteban que se narra en Hechos 7. Este joven diácono en la comunidad cristiana de Jerusalén fue condenado a muerte por lapidación bajo la dirección de Saúl de Tarso, antes de que éste fuera convertido al cristianismo y se convirtió en el apóstol Pablo. La pintura fue influenciada por el arte de Caravaggio y Adam Elsheimer. Representa el momento en que Esteban fue apedreado fuera de la ciudad por sus muchos tormentos (alrededor de veinte personajes), y pronuncia sus últimas palabras a Cristo como la luz alrededor de él muestra que los cielos están abiertos.
