Los vapores de bambú, doblando bajo el peso de la nieve cayendo sobre sus hojas esbeltas, emergen de detrás de una ramera mojada. Sakaki Hyakusen ha dejado las áreas del papel sin pintar para representar la nieve, mientras que un lavado gris desigual indica una noche oscura y brillante. Un estudiante asiduo de la pintura china, Hyakusen ahora es considerado un pionero de nanga, o “pintura escolar sur”, en Japón, y su influencia en artistas nanga posteriores como Yosa Buson (1716-1784) es ampliamente reconocida.
