Sara Hennell (1812-1899) fue autora y artista. Shebecame close friends with George Eliot in the 1840s and moved to Coventry from Hackneyin London in 1851. Este acuarela muestra la Capilla en Hackney alrededor del tiempo que se reubicó en Coventry para vivir al lado de su hermana Cara Bray. Este fue el mismo año que George Eliot se mudó a Londres y los dos se separaron durante los últimos años.
