En la pintura relajada y confiada Titian trae los encantos del círculo familiar a la fórmula bien alimentada de la Conversazione Sacra. La dulce sonrisa de San Dorothy es la de un pariente visitante mientras que el noble San Jorge recuerda irresistiblemente el aburrimiento avuncular, siempre correcto, tomando muy en serio, y lleno de los mejores y más aburridos consejos. La cortina verde entrelazando los colores más brillantes de las figuras soporta este humor de la domesticidad segura. Los rayos X muestran que tanto el niño como San Jorge se enfrentaron originalmente hacia afuera, lo que habría hecho que la imagen fuera más antigua y más formal.
