Walter Scott (1851-1925) diseñó cajas de reloj y joyas y enseñó en la Escuela de Arte en Coventry. Pintó paisajes en Gloucestershire, Gales y el Distrito del Lago, así como en Warwickshire. Esta vista de Stoke Heath cerca de Coventry representa una visión romántica de las nubes que se agitan y de la isla de vaina abierta. Stoke Heath originalmente tenía un gran número de árboles de elm, algunos de los cuales todavía podían verse en Heath Crescent y Common Way cuando las casas fueron construidas en la zona.
