Este registro ilustrado del TERROR barroco fue completado por Henry William Downes durante un viaje de caza de Sydney al Océano Pacífico entre el 17 de septiembre de 1846 y el 17 de julio de 1847. El TERROR fue uno de los muchos barcos de caza propiedad del colorido empresario Benjamin Boyd, un aventurero escocés que fue una de las figuras más significativas en la historia de la caza de ballenas en la antigua Australia colonial. Fue Boyd quien estableció la base de ballenas, Boyd Town, en Twofold Bay, en el sur de Nueva Gales del Sur.
