El discípulo polaco de Gauguin Slewinski se trasladó de Pont-Aven a Le Pouldu y luego a Doelan entre 1889 y 1916. Esta vida en el estilo de Paul Gauguin da testimonio de la influencia del maestro. Áreas planas de un solo color muy esbozadas, una perspectiva de pájaro y formas simplificadas evocan claramente la estética Pont-Aven en esta pintura dedicada a Marie Schewtzoff.
