El poeta, que estudiaba en la Universidad de Rikkyo en Tokio, volvió a casa por un tiempo durante las vacaciones de verano. Esta foto fue tomada con parientes de su edad, con los que creció en su ciudad natal, y se convirtió en su última imagen de su ciudad natal. El pelo del poeta se corta debido a la Ordenanza sobre Topknot Prohibición de Estudiantes de Pregrado que se implementó en abril bajo el régimen de tiempos de guerra.
