Portrait of Mary Cassatt is Oil on paper painting by the French artist Edgar Degas. It is painted in 1876-1878.This is a portrait of Miss Cassatt, Seated, Holding Cards. Mary Stevenson Cassatt (1844–1926) was an American painter and printmaker. She lived much of her adult life in France, where she first befriended Edgar Degas and later exhibited among the Impressionists. The painting is now in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery, The Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, USA.
