Il s'agit d'un modèle pour la célèbre statue «Eros» (ou Cupidon) qui se trouve au centre de Piccadilly Circus. La statue est le couronnement de la fontaine commémorative du grand philanthrope victorien, Lord Shaftsbury. Le sculpteur a écrit « l'Amour bandé les yeux envoyant sans discrimination, mais avec intention, son missile de bonté, toujours avec la rapidité que l'oiseau a de ses ailes ». Le monument fut dévoilé en 1893 et fut la première statue de Londres à être moulée en aluminium.
