En octobre 1905, le magazine Kobiecy a tenu le premier concours de vêtements pour femmes polonaises. Des artistes, des tailleurs et des personnes liées au monde de la mode ont été invités à participer. Les dessins ont dû faire allusion aux costumes traditionnels polonais ou à ceux ayant des origines dans le costume des nobles polonais. Les résultats du concours ont été annoncés le 12 février 1906. 26 dessins ont été envoyés, y compris des vêtements, des poupées en version miniature des dessins et modèles.
