Le corps du Christ, soi-disant homme des douleurs, porté par les anges, est presque montré devant. L'ange au premier plan tient un panier d'outils de torture (couronne d'épine, clous). Sur la gauche, les trois Maries sont sur leur chemin vers la tombe, qu'elles trouveront alors vide.
