Cavarozzi, représentant le fruit et le feuillage dans un panier simple contre un sol monochrome évoque une image célèbre de Caravaggio (Basket de Fruit, Pinacothèque Ambrosiana, Milan). Cavarozzi a été l'un des principaux exposants de la peinture morte en Italie et en Espagne, où il a accompagné le noble Giovanni Battista Crescenzi en 1617-19.
