Un troupeau de gros bétail du Texas. Ces bovins sur le point étaient de splendides spécimens, âgés de cinq ou six ans. Ce sont de beaux animaux. Ils étaient très sauvages. Beaucoup n'avaient jamais vu un homme à pied. Les gens qui marchaient étaient parfois attirés par eux. Il se serait produit plus souvent s'il y avait eu plus d'arbres. Probablement le chef-d'œuvre de Reugh, La harde d'approche, a été exposée à l'Art Institute de Chicago en 1903, avec la Society of Western Artists en 1903, et à la State Fair du Texas en 1905.
