Elizabeth (Lizzie) Boott Duveneck est née à Boston, a grandi dans un cadre de raffinement et d'érudition en dehors de Florence, Italie à la Villa Castellani, qui était fréquentée par la colonie expatriée d'artistes et d'écrivains.
