George Elmer Browne était un artiste américain connu ses peintures de paysage. Née au Massachusetts en 1871, Browne étudie à l'école d'art de Cowles et au musée des beaux-arts de Boston, ainsi qu'à l'Académie Julian de Paris. En 1916, Browne fonde la West End School of Art à sa maison d'été de Provincetown.
