Elizabeth Williams (1765-1843) est la fille aînée d'Elizabeth Bell et d'Henry Howell Williams. En 1797, elle épousa Andrew Sigourney, un Bostonien éminent. Au cours de sa vie, Sigourney a servi comme trésorier de l'ancienne et honorable compagnie d'artillerie, trésorier de la ville de Boston, et représentant à la législature de l'État du Massachusetts. Ici, Stuart a tonifié la qualité presque sensuelle qu'il a prêtée à beaucoup de femmes sitters afin de souligner Mme Sigourney, connaissant l'intelligence et la prospérité.
