Le sculpteur et médaillé allemand Gottlieb Elster a conçu ce vase en 1899 pour KPM - Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin. De son corps conique poussent des iris à fleurs et deux têtes féminines. Le motif de base correspond à la métamorphose de l'homme et de la nature, qui a été appliquée comme un idéal esthétique, à cause des lignes organiques et mobiles, surtout à la fin du XIXe siècle.
