Une figure très décorative de la femme noire avec un panier a été créée dans le plus ancien atelier de porcelaine européenne à Meissen, près de Dresde. Cette composition compliquée, utilisant une technique de porcelaine difficile, a été réalisée avec une véritable art, en créant la figurine d'une femme de l'Afrique alors très exotique. La figurine appartient aux sculptures très à la mode du 18ème siècle en porcelaine, qui ont enrichi le décor de la table.
