Cette locomotive est issue d'une série de seulement deux unités d'origine belge de la Société John Cockerill et a été achetée par la compagnie de chemin de fer d'État, pour fonctionner dans les réseaux Minho e Douro, entrant en service en 1908. Il était destiné aux services de trains de voyageurs de banlieue, étant limité à la zone de Porto et en 1927, a été transféré à Espinho. Il a également été utilisé sporadiquement pour les services de fret. Elle a été retirée du service à la fin des années 1960.
