Le général britannique John Maunsell (1724-1795) a siégé pour Ramage peu après que lui et sa femme américaine, Elizabeth Stillwell, étaient retournés dans l'État de New York de l'exil volontaire en Irlande pendant la révolution. Les initiales gravées sont d'une date ultérieure et sont pour Ann Eliza Van Rensselaer, l'arrière-grand-mère du donateur.
