Marie avait 19 ans quand elle a posé pour le tableau Chloé. C'est son histoire.Chloe est un Icône national protégé par la Fiducie nationale et le patrimoine de l'État de Victoria (listé en 1988). Elle a été peinte par le maître français Jules Joseph Lefebvre, considéré comme l'un des plus grands peintres du XIXe siècle.L'œuvre est sans aucun doute l'œuvre étrangère la plus célèbre, la plus vue et la plus aimée en Australie. Le nom Chloé vient du grec pour la tendresse, ou la beauté en herbe.
